Morning departure, about 11:00 a.m, from a meeting point in Sorrento towards the Vesuvius with our specialized guide. The mountain is one of only two active volcanos in Continental Europe and stands about 1281 meters tall, with a symmetrical central cone and steep wood slopes. The whole of the Mount Vesuvius National Park is both beautiful and productive, dotted with small farms and wineries planted with heirloom varietals boasting a unique territory. Visiting the crater is a must, and tourists from across the globe climb the path each year to peer into its depths. First stop will be at a local vineyard at the slopes of the Vesuvius to enjoy a glass of wine while eating an Italian traditional light lunch, after that your journey continues with the visit of the imposing Vesuvius for about 2 hours. Return to Sorrento in the afternoon.
